Happy New Year

Posted by Chris on 17th January 2010 at 23:51

Happy New Year from the Doctor and all the team here at Big Love HQ. We hope 2010 is going to be a happy and prosperous year for every one of you out there.

Steve, Tim and I have just spent a great weekend working on the next lot of tracks to be released. The top of the pile right now is Mes Cahiers Bleus (which originally started life before I was even born) which just might be my current favourite. Hopefully just a few more days of listening in our cars, on different stereos, laptops, iPods etc and it will be ready for release in February. We hope that will be closely followed by a few other cracking tunes that are edging ever closer to being ready. Without a doubt - watch this space!

We were so pleased to see the Doctor himself pay us a visit on Saturday night. Admittedly it was a brief stopover, but such are the way of things with that man. He very kindly bought us all a drink at the Holly Bush – he was lucky, it was pretty quiet in there on Saturday. More people might have clocked who he was had it been busier. In the Holly Bush, Dr Big Love has been a man much talked about and toasted, but seldom seen and never the man seen putting his hand in the pocket to pay for a round. An unusual night but a welcome start to 2010, nevertheless!

Big plans are afoot for 2010. We’ll let you know here when things are confirmed – BUT if you want the hot gossip as soon as we ourselves know the news, register with the doctor and you’ll get newsletter updates about the exciting plans. You can also get access to freebie download of our tracks by signing up.

2010 is going to be an exciting year and we hope you’re going to be a part of it. Don't forget to check out our Facebook page, our feed on Twitter and the Drugstore to listen to or buy our music.

Big Love goes out to everyone who has supported us in the last year (and further back!). We couldn’t do it without you guys.

Here’s to 2010!

Big Love

Chris

Dear all

We've done a little upgrade on the site here at Big Love HQ, so you can now add your comments to the doctor's notes.

If you've registered with the site you can add comments straight away.

Guests to the site can still post comments but they need to be approved by us before they appear on the site.

We look forward to hearing all of your comments.

The plot thickens - a wedding

Posted by Chris on 18th October 2009 at 13:09

Greetings Big Lovers

You may have noticed the latest Message from the Doctor - he dropped by HQ and left a napkin with a scrawled note.

Well DBL himself has actually been in the country (this country!) since Friday afternoon and has been filling is in on what was going on. (I think there must have been a mix up at customs... surely someone somewhere has given him the wrong Visa, he's never normally back in blighty for more than a few hours... thirty-six hours tops....)

From the horse's mouth, as they say:

"It was an accident! From the wedding of Hermione Katapult, III in NYC.

"Anyone can make a mistake. Invited to a conference 'Sexually transmitted diseases in the alligator population of Louisiana'. Nice hotel, near the Park. Went in the wrong room. Wedding reception. Didn’t notice at first (those alligator folk are fancy dressers at the worst of times) although I thought the vol au vents and canapés were a bit odd for an academic conference. A girl in a nice dress holding a bottle of champagne persuaded me to stay."

And the rest, as the story goes, is history.

Big Love to all from everyone here at DBL HQ

What's happening right now?

Posted by Steve on 30th September 2009 at 22:21

A quick update on current activities, Big Lovers.

The sample EPs are now on the way to radio stations all over the country. The next time you are feeling at one with the world, ring up your local station (or even better the BBC) and ask them to play Last Minute of Forever for dear Lucinda... or Uncle Eric... or your dog... or anyone really...

Don't forget to check out our Facebook page, our feed on Twitter and the Drugstore to listen to or buy our music.

Thanks everyone

Big Love

Steve

All around the world

Posted by Tim on 27th September 2009 at 20:25

Dear Big Lovers,

We are blessed with having amongst you, dear friends, Big Lovers from literally all over the world. On the doctor's list of patients currently we have people from:

  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • Australia
  • Albania
  • France
  • Czech Republic
  • Romania

If you are one our friends from far flung fields: it's great to have you on board. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to be in the same place as the Doctor himself as he wends his way through life, stopping off at various haunts around the world. Be sure to doff your hat to him if you do see him.

Of course, if you're from closer to home too, we're delighted to have you join us. Dr Big Love, when he drops by HQ here in Blighty, is always over the moon with having all of you on the journey with him, although, in his innimatble style, he wouldn't really show it.

If you know anyone else you think would benefit from the Doctor's musings or music, be sure you point them in the direction of www.drbiglove.com and encourage them to register so they can download free music straight away!

Get Swampy

Tim
